You’re paying a professional to train you properly and that means giving you a push! If the going gets tough – keep on going – it will be worth it.
Be honest – If you didn’t get time to complete your assigned exercises in-between personal training sessions, or if you ate poorly that week, just be honest about it. If you didn’t do your assigned exercises because you find them tedious, say so! Your personal trainer is there to keep you motivated and to develop an exercise plan that will help you attain your goals. Most personal trainers are more than happy to adjust your exercise plan if it means you will be more inspired to complete it every week.
Avoid the blame game – If you’ve had a week of bad decisions, don’t blame your lack of progress on your personal trainer. You need to be just as accountable as your personal trainer if you want to achieve your goals. You need to be willing to make health and fitness a priority. There are no quick fixes, and a one or two hour training session per week will not transform your body. You have to be willing to do the work outside your scheduled sessions too.
Results – If you’ve been fully committed to your health and wellbeing program but you’re not getting results after 30 days then you should try another personal trainer. There are some exceptional personal trainers out there, so don’t stop until you find the perfect one for you!
