There’s no denying that the festive season and summer holidays can really set you back in terms of your fitness. Now is the perfect time to jump back on the fitness bandwagon!
At some point we all fail to maintain our exercise routines. Sometimes its because of an injury or illness. Sometimes we just get lazy or discouraged and allow life to get in the way! Suddenly we can realise several weeks have gone by without any proper exercise….and we’re probably also a bit worried about stepping on the scales too!
What you need is some motivation and a bit of help!
Here’s how we recommend you restore your fitness regime.
- Get a personal trainer. If motivation is a large factor, why not hire a personal trainer? They will help you to plan and establish a regular routine that’s right for you and they’ll help to keep you at it!
- Exercise in the morning. Studies have shown that people who exercise early in the morning tend to be most successful in sticking to a regular exercise program. An added benefit is the endorphin rush that will help you to feel energised at work during the day. Finding time to exercise in the evening can be more difficult – but it can also delay your ability to go to sleep.
- Exercise with friends. Find a friend or group and exercise together. This helps to keep you motivated, especially now that the days will gradually get shorter and colder.
- Keep your gym bag in sight. Leave your gym bag or yoga mat at your front door so it’s easily accessible and you’re always reminded to schedule exercise into your routine!
The biggest trap people fall into is trying to do too much, too soon. So be sure to take your time incorporating exercise back into your every day life.
