Our skin contains a natural layer of oils. Without these moisturising oils, skin is prone to cracking, itching and flaking. These tips should help you to regain healthy and comfortable skin.
- Skip the hot shower – Hot showers can make your dry skin feel and look worse. So when your skin is feeling dry and tight, make sure you take cooler showers.
- Exfoliate! – This will help remove old skin cells. It may feel odd rubbing skin that is dry, but this can help your skin to more easily absorb moisturisers.
- Moisturise – Every day, with a natural product, and for even better results, apply the moisturiser after bathing while your body is still slightly damp.
- Try honey – Honey has many beneficial properties that can help to heal dry, sore skin. Apply to areas of dry skin, leave for ten minutes, and then wash off.
Try oatmeal – An oatmeal bath can do wonders for your skin. Just add one cup of dry oatmeal to your bath (make sure you process the oatmeal into a fine powder first so it can dissolve in the warm water). Relax and soak in the bath for 20 minutes!
