As the winter frost sets in and temperatures start dropping it’s very important to keep that blood pumping and so those extremities are toasty warm. There’s a few thing you can do to keep your body at the same, or similar temperature, during your winter workouts.
• Do a quick weather check before you head outside to do your morning exercise. It might just save you from an unexpected wet and cold encounter and might also stop you from catching a cold.
• Layer up and don’t forget your warm up! Even though you might not break a sweat while working out, it’s important to dress for the conditions. Not only will adding some extra layers and doing a warm up help get your blood pumping, it will also better prepare your body for your workout and help prevent injury.
• Slap on a cap. One of the first places you lose your warmth is from your head. So don’t forget to pull on a beanie or cap before you head outside. Keep the heat in and the cold out.
Let’s get motivated and moving to keep warm this winter!
