Classical traditional Bagua, or the Feng Shui energy of your home, is the aspect we need to bring into balance. Translated from Chinese, Bagua literally means “8 areas.” The way to implement this is to look at the map below and address the aspects of your life you seek to alter or improve.
You can prepare your home in three easy steps:

1. Take a compass reading of your front door
Step outside your front door and stand facing away from your house and take a compass reading. Then stand in three to seven different positions around your home facing the same direction and take individual compass readings. Once you have completed these actions find the median number of your combined compass readings and determine the general nautical direction of your home.
2. Draw or acquire a simple floor plan of your home
After you’ve drawn your simple plan, or acquired a pre-made copy, you need to find the centre of your home. You can do this by drawing a rough letter X across your floor plan and the centre of the X will be your focal point.
3. Place your Hopewood Bagua map over your floor plan
Make sure the centre of your map lines up with the centre of your home so you can pin point the areas of your home you would like to improve or focus on.
For instance, if you have a 35 median degree facing home, your house faces in a northeast direction. If for example, you want to use Feng Shui to support your health during the upcoming winter days, you should try placing more wooden furniture in the eastern area of your home.
