What is Bhakti Yoga?
Bhakti Yoga or Bhakti marga (literally translated is the path of Bhakti) is one of the free flowing and natural types of yoga. Requiring the least amount of strenuous physical exercise, Bhakti Yoga is all about awareness and keeping a positive attitude.
Why choose Bhakti Yoga?
The purpose of Bhakti is to become one with your body, mind and soul. It is one of the six varieties of yoga where you can reflect on your thoughts, actions and goals. Bhakti’s main focuses are love, compassion and a sense of devotion to yourself, those you care about most and those around you who may be struggling or suffering.
It provides you with the stepping-stones to positivity, purity and devotion to a healthy, happier life.
How does it work?
To begin your asana practice (the movement of yoga), choose a calm and peaceful place. Collect your thoughts and connect with your prana (life force) by closing your eyes, breathing deeply and focusing on the center of your being. In order to become connected and engaged with your prana you must first remove the obvious obstructions and distractions to fully focus on your prana. Ideally you will enter a peaceful, almost trance like state which will enable deeper and purer thinking.
