When it comes to exercise, we believe any form of exercise is going to be helpful.
We all live more sedentary lifestyles than nature intended! Put simply, if you want to increase your wellbeing you should get moving.
It’s about finding your own starting point, and sticking to it. Do what you can from where you are right now and each step you take to increase your level of exercise will help to improve your health.
Try a variety of different activities or make your exercise interactive, for example, you could join a sports team. Just take every opportunity you can to increase your movement.
Not sure where to start?
Whether it’s swimming, walking, trying a few yoga classes or joining a local sports team it’s important to stay active. Find the exercise that’s right for you. Remember it’s not a race, we all move at our own pace. If you’re getting out of the house, breathing in the fresh air outdoors and exhaling some of your daily stresses – then you’re on the right track.
Do what’s realistic and achievable. If you are setting big goals, make sure you outline the small steps that will enable you to successfully achieve them.
If you’re planning to get more active – think about easy ways to fit it into your daily routine. For example, choose the stairs instead of the escalator, ride a bike to school with your kids or park a little further from the office each day.
Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise every day and remember it’s not about the quantity; it’s about the quality.
