An exfoliant is a great way to remove dead skin cells and revitalize your skin. They can help unclog pores, remove toxins and work to reduce blemishes. Exfoliant can also stimulate blood circulation which will achieve a healthy glow.
Be careful not to over-exfoliate. Your skin regenerates slower as we age. If you are in your 20’s, it may take 20 days for your skins cells to regenerate. In your 30’s it’s closer to 30 days, in your 40’s up to 40 days and so on. We take care of our skin to slow down the visible signs to aging.
Oat and brown sugar exfoliant rub
This super easy recipe combines only a few ingredients and works wonders for your skin.
The unsung hero of the skincare world. Oats are perfect for soaking up any excess oils and removing dead skin cells. Oats contain natural cleansers and is antibacterial in nature. They are a brilliant base for our exfoliant.
Brown sugar contains glycolic acid, which is essential for maintaining the hydration levels in your skin. The coarse granules are also perfect for taking exfoliation to the next level.
Jojoba oil is antibacterial and can moisturise your skin. It also works with your skin to support healthy oil development. It’s technically not needed in this recipe, because the ingredients above plus some water to bind, are sufficient, however, we think adding a carrier oil like jojoba is a great way to enhance your exfoliant mask to help your skin look bright and healthy.
