Natural hair masks for dry hair

Summer is amazing. Nothing beats lying on the beach or by the pool, reading a book and sipping on one of Hopewood’s delicious summer juices. There are many positives of soaking up the Vitamin D – BUT – it can play havoc on your hair and you must take care of your skin!

This summer, try to stay out of direct sunlight as much as you can. The shade is your body’s friend. Remember to slip on a hat and regularly apply sunscreen.

To help reverse the damage done to your hair, try the following masks for hydration and rejuvenation. All masks should be used at least once every two weeks. Remember to wash your hair well after each treatment!

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 egg

Olive oil adds moisture and egg adds protein which will help replenish dry, brittle hair. Whisk the ingredients together and apply this mask to your hair regularly. It will help to prevent breakage. Leave it on for about 20 minutes each time.

Ingredients:
2 drops lavender oil
2 tablespoons coconut milk

Coconut milk works wonders for sun-damaged strands. It works as a natural moisturiser and deeply revitalises your hair. Mix lavender oil into coconut milk and apply from root to tip. You can even leave this mask on overnight, just make sure to cover your pillows and sheet with a towel.

Ingredients:
2 ripe bananas
1 teaspoon of olive oil
1 teaspoon of coconut oil

Banana is perfect to create shiny, soft and strong hair. Mix all ingredients in a bowl with a blender and apply from roots to ends. Leave it in for 10-15 minutes before rinsing.
