Health retreat at home

When was the last time you took a day for yourself? We can often be burdened by the challenges of everyday life and forget to take the time to recharge and reconnect with ourselves. Slowing down and focusing on yourself can do wonders for your health and wellbeing. We’ve created a DIY retreat you can do in the comfort of your home when you need to fill up your wellness cup.

5.30am

Wake up and watch the sunrise.

6.00am

Begin your day with meditation.

6.30am

Enjoy a cup of herbal tea and some fruit before going for a morning stroll. We recommend walking at a nearby park, lake, or beach so you connect with nature.

8.00am

Eat a nourishing breakfast. We recommend including fruit or vegetables, protein, and wholegrains to give you all the nutrients you need for the rest of your morning.

9.00am

Get active and move your body with an exercise session. Listen to your body and decide what type of movement will be best. If your body is in need of some restoration, try a gentle practice such as yoga or Tai Chi. If you’re feeling energetic and want to get your heart rate up, try a cardio or strength-based workout.

11.00am

Stimulate your mind and expand your knowledge. This could include listening to a podcast, doing brain games such as crosswords or sudoku, reading an educational or inspirational book, or watching a documentary.

12.30pm

Break for a nutritious lunch. If you feel like a lighter meal, try a soup or salad.

1.30pm

Have a leisurely afternoon and spend time doing whatever will help you nurture yourself:
• Do something you enjoy such as reading, drawing, painting, playing a musical instrument, dancing, or cooking
• Turn your focus within with some quiet reflection through journaling or meditation
• Connect with nature by tending to your plants or garden, tuning in to your surroundings or just sitting outside in the sun
• Give your body some TLC with a home beauty treatment
• Listen to calming music
• Relax with a luxurious bath or nap.

6.30pm

Sit down for a delicious home-cooked dinner. Ensure your devices are turned off and spend your evening connecting with loved ones, reflecting on the day. Gentle background music will help to create a relaxing ambience. You may even like to get an early night’s sleep!
